The international congress series is aimed at promoting the health potential of the forest. The IV Congress will bring together experts from the field of public health, medicine and therapy, as well as decision makers from politics and health tourism industry. In addition, there will be stakeholders from forestry, environmental and climate protection and sustainable development.
The IV Congress will take place from April 6 to 9, 2022 in Luso/Portugal, a 30-minute drive from Coimbra. Luso itself is located right next to the impressive "Mata Nacional do Bucaco", the Bussaco National Forest. This forest was created by monks in 1656. Back then, they wanted to integrate almost every tree species in the known world. On 105 hectares of land and at 547 meters above sea level, 400 native and Atlantic-origin plant species as well as another approximately 300 exotic species can be found there today.
At the congress, exciting new results from various scientific disciplines will be presented, with a focus on the possibilities of forest therapy in the treatment of diseases. In addition, the worldwide creation and certification of healing forests will be discussed.
The idea of healing forests was born at the 8th National Conference on the Health Care Industry in 2012. The conference has been organized since 2005 by the BioCon Valley® GmbH, where the International Certification Office Healing Forest is located, on behalf of the state government of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
