On 8 December, we had the pleasure of attending the 6th edition of the European Health Tourism Industry (EHTI) Summit at the European Parliament in Brussels. This prestigious B2G event brings together high-level officials and industry experts to discuss the future of health tourism. Hosted by MEP Istvan Ujhelyi, the event was attended by key representatives from EU and world tourism organisations, including the World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) and the Eureopean Spas Association (ESPA), as well as representatives from the European Parliament.
The networking event was introduced by many exciting impulse speeches (see here). Afterwards, we had the excellent opportunity to make new personal contacts and have fruitful discussions about the creation of healing forests in health destinations. The healing forest concept and the certification met with great interest among the participants. The use of forests for medical therapeutic purposes is an extremely innovative product for health tourism.
We would like to thank Ivana Kolar in particular for the organisation and invitation to the event. The meeting has brought us all closer together to achieve our common goals for the development of sustainable health tourism.
